Introduction

MaskUp Manatee was a countywide public information campaign developed during the COVID-19 pandemic to promote consistent mask usage and reduce community transmission.

Challenge

Manatee County needed a unified public health message that could reach diverse audiences, build trust across agencies, and encourage rapid behavioral change during a fast-moving public health crisis.

Solution

I led creative direction and contributed to the development of a multi-channel communications campaign involving county agencies and public health partners. The campaign included coordinated messaging, school-based video content, branded mask distribution, and an integrated social media strategy to ensure consistent public communication across channels.

Result

The campaign supported increased public awareness of preventive health measures and strengthened interagency coordination during the pandemic response. It was recognized by the American Advertising Federation with an Angel Award for public service creative direction.
